Suspected Coronavirus Patient Who Ran Away From An Isolation Centre In Zimbabwe Back

The suspected Coronavirus disease patient who ran away from an isolation centre in Zimbabwe has returned to the treatment centre.

The suspected case, who was said to be a Thai, reportedly disappeared from the Centre on Sunday, with authorities having no word about how he escaped and where he had fled.

He was being treated at Wilkins Infectious Disease Hospital when he reportedly fled. He was referred from a private facility to the treatment centre before he fled, according to Star FM, Zimbabwe.

Confirming his return to the centre, City Health Director Dr. Prosper Chonzi , said the patient was already in the isolation centre and would only be released when the results of his test, being awaited, turned negative.

“We are keeping an eye on him and we are happy that he is back for us to conduct the necessary tests. He is currently in isolation until we are sure that he does not have the virus,” Dr Chonzi said.
