A concert earlier scheduled to hold in Kigali, Rwanda but cancelled in the last minute amid Coronavirus fears has held online, with 3000 empty seats, the New Times of Rwanda has reported.
‘Each One Reach One’ gospel concert, scheduled to hold at Intare Conference Arena in Rusororo on Sunday was canceled because the government discouraged large public gatherings.
It was organized by popular artistes Gentil and Adrien Misigaro and was meant to be attended by thousands at the Arena. The organizers decided to stream the concert live on YouTube.
The government of Rwanda is on high alert with respect to COVID-19, even though the virus is not yet in the country.
The duo, who are based in North America, said those who would like to be refunded would be given their money. However, those who wish to support them will their money were appreciated.
As to why they staged the concert even though they knew there would not be spectators, Adrien Misigaro tweeted:
